Born from the aftermath of Babel’s fall, he embodies the moment courage falters—when warriors rise yet fail, when armies stand proud but crumble under their own weight. Each shattered soldier, each defeated king, each failed charge across history lent shape to his essence. From the sun-baked fields of Mesopotamia to the cold stones of Carthage, Ithrial grew as the phantom of lost resolve.
Once, his form was closer to man, perhaps a hero or general whose failures were too heavy to bear. But as courage broke into despair repeatedly across ages, his body became fragmented—shards of armor, broken spears, and obsidian-like limbs bound together by shadow. His eyes, hollow yet glowing, reflect the embers of forgotten bravery, and his presence carries the pressure of all those who faltered before victory.
Ithrial moves silently through the ruins of past glories, haunting battlefields, abandoned fortresses, and echoing gates of cities long forgotten. His chains of cowardice drag the sound of retreating armies, and the banner he carries warps to show each viewer the symbol of what they fear losing most. He whispers the names of defeats—Marathon, Tours, Al-Andalus, Carthage—reminding even the strongest that no courage is absolute.
The Shadowed Council exploits his nature as a weapon, using his aura to weaken foes before battle. Yet Ithrial is more than a tool; he is a reflection of human frailty.
